Bewildering Conversations with a 19 Year Old

(with thanks to Mr. Jennings for the adaptation of the post title...)

Oh David, really? I thought everyone should know David's plans for our cruise. He doesn't feel a need to check out our spiffy blog here because he thinks he can just review the itinerary a week before we leave and be all set. His plan is to get up in the morning, see us on our way to the various shore excursions, and then go back to sleep. I'm thinking maybe this is not the best plan out there... I kinda thought he might actually want to join us once in awhile? Perhaps not...

He also has grand plans to have a Pina Colada - he has a bit of an obsession with this drink. Steve, introduce him to something more masculine. I, on the hand, am planning to get one of those super fruity drinks in a coconut or pineapple or something. It must be complete with the umbrella, the unnatural color, etc. I don't care that it isn't a cruise to a warm destination. I'm taking suggestions...

David also mentioned his hopes of meeting a special someone on the cruise. Sure Dave, you can take her back to our big family suite, I'm sure you will get all the privacy you need.

So maybe we will get David to put up his map, enough clues have been dropped that he should check it out. But I think not... He has "more important things to be doing." We should just sign him up for random shore excursions...

well, facebook *is* a very important thing to do. clearly more important than spending time with his family...

as for pina coladas...steve likes them, too, especially if they have little wedges of pineapple on them. my advice for you, amy, is a strawberry daiquiri. mmm...

i'm thinking something that requires quite a bit of physical exertion would be good for david to sign up for...

ick, i'm not much of a pineapple fan. but i could go for a strawberry daiquiri...

how much physical effort is actually required for a zipline? i guess the climb to the top...

he might also just love some time on a fishing boat or a seafood tasting event...

Be nice to the lad.....

AS the one paying for his shore excursions, I think leaving him on the boat is a great idea (and, while the rest of us are ashore, he could get the quality in the familys suite with that special someone he plans on meeting -- if he ever gets out of the cabin, at all.
