1) eating my weight in salmon.
2) "sophie, why are you up at 4am? oh well, time to go play with grandpa!"
3) watching dad sleep on the patio because we voted him out of the room due to snoring.

5) seeing russia from sarah palin's house(s).
6) egging sarah palin's house(s).
7) watching dad run away from a bear.
8) hearing about how amy/david/dad almost left david/dad/amy on the side of the train tracks in nebraska.
9) vacation in alaska means amy won't have heatstroke.
10) waving goodbye to david on the dock in ketchikan.
and a bonus item:
11) spending 15ish hours on a plane with sophie, what fun!

very nicely done, i'm having trouble picking my favorites from 3/4, 7 and 8.
My top 10 things (well, the first 10 I thought of, anyway):
1) The clickety-clack of the wheels on rails at night as fall asleep.
2) The doppler effect sound of crossing warning bells as the train races by
3) Having a salmon-eating contest with Sarah the first night on the boat
4) Hearing the announcement on the second day out that the boat is out of salmon, because of a salmon eating context.
5) Successfully making it 17 1/2 days without a cigarette.
6) Getting my land legs back
7) Flying in a small airplane around Mt. Rainier.
8) Seeing a whale
9) 13 days teaching Sophie to say "Hi, Grandpa Mike"
10) The rest of my lifetime with memories.
oh sure, be (mostly) serious. hrmph :p
Bonus #12) Seeing dad in a dinghy behind the cruise ship.
hey, it's win/win, if he's in the dinghy, steve gets the patio all to himself!
With this group, I'm beginning to think I'd actually *prefer* the damned dinghy....
