We woke up to rain and clouds once again today. Sarah and I got particularly excited the previous day, when for a few moments, the sun came out during our ceramic painting. But it went away just as quickly. I must admit that I was getting pretty tired of the lousy weather. We had breakfast again at the fancy restaurant. It was yummy, just like last time.
Today's adventures included a tour of College Fjord, but we wouldn't really get there until dinner time. It was a very low key day, overall. Lots of reading, napping, and eating. Oh right, and packing. We were disembarking the ship very early the next morning and everything needed to be packed and placed outside our rooms tonight for pick-up. Fortunately for all of us, we hadn't bought a heck of a lot, so there weren't really any space issues.
That afternoon, Sarah and I went to afternoon tea in one of the dining rooms. They came around and gave us all sorts of sandwiches, scones, and pastries. It was fun, though not nearly as good as tea at the Grand Floridian in Disneyworld. That's one of my very favorite Disney splurges.
It was a bit unfortunate that our 2 hours tour of College Fjord coincided with our dinner seating. But we did have a table next to a window, so that was ok. There were people constantly coming over to the window to take pictures, which was a little intrusive but not the end of the world. I thought the glaciers here were quite magnificent looking. In fact, I liked this area more than Glacier Bay (though Margerie Glacier was probably the best glacier overall).
Images from College Fjord:
David thought about ordering something else off the menu to surprise everyone but chickened out and ended up with yet another order of Fettuccine Alfredo. After dinner, we said farewell to Rui and Nelson and thanked them for everything. We had decided to go with the assigned dinner seating so we could have the same waiter each night and it was worth it.
Back in the room, we finished the packing and headed off early to bed. Tomorrow would be a long day as we ventured north to Denali.
