We (the CT crowd, at least) leave in exactly one month to begin our vacation. That means it is time to start to think about packing!! What are some weird or more obscure things we want to make sure that we don't forget to bring with us?
I'll start:
- Duct tape - Dad swears we need this. I might buy purple or turquoise...
- Passports!!!
- Batteries
- Extra outlet strip thing
- Charger cords and power cables
7 comments:
* binoculars (we have access to some, i believe)
* uno cards (always good on a cruise)
* cell phone charger cables
* camera-laptop transfer cables
* dollar bills to tip room service with
* lots and lots of advil :p
I thought of some more:
--ear plugs
--stamps for postcards/addresses
--empty duffle bag?
--gum for dad. lots and lots of gum.
I don't know if it's obscure, but it's definitely as weird as it gets -- my family.
For me:
1) those nose strips to cut down on snoring.
2) train schedule, so we can tell how far behind it we are.
3) extra flash drive(s), even if only to get stuff home after trip. (Question for S/S: Do I need my canon-supplied disks to download movies?)
For all (each? several?) of us:
1) something to use as dirty laundry bags, even just in suitcases.
2) cell phones (and chargers). won't work at sea, but will work in Alaskan ports, when and if we split up (deliberately or otherwise).
Oh..... important one.......
Tickets. In this day of e-ticketing, normally all we have is an e-mailed confirmation, but I received real tickets (well, real ticket vouchers) for the trains and boat trip to Kenai.
(Also received confirmation -- but no tickets -- for our three plane trips and for our hotel in Vancouver.)
do any of you read?? i put charger cables in the original post and you both repeated it!
another thing to remember - bug spray. i hear it gets pretty bad.
and the dentist reminded me today to make sure everyone packs toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss.
whine, whine, whine.
did the dentist really think we'd forget toothbrushes?
which does remind me - bring imodium if you are prone to diarrhea. at least on dcl, you can't buy it from the stores, because if you are having stomach problems, they want you to see the dr, b/c they need to rule out norwalk virus (and dcl will quarantine you in your room if they think you have it). but i think we know our bodies well enough to know if we have a virus or not.
