We arrive (On July 9) at 7:20 AM; meanwhile, I assume the rental won't be available until some time in the afternoon.
So what do we do with our luggage for the day?

There's a good chance we'll be able to drop our luggage at the apartment - in one of the comments, someone said they were allowed to do so. It also looks like the apartment is empty the night before we arrive, with the previous group checking out the day before - I would imagine they aren't renting it out for just one night...
Sounds good, but how early? I don't think it takes long to get through customs/immigration. Anyway, if we can't get in that early in the AM, there is always checked luggage at one of the train stations.
clearly, you haven't been through customs/immigration in a while ;) the google is telling me wait times of up to 2 hours are not unusual at heathrow, depending on how many planes have recently arrived, etc. that being said, if no one is in the apartment (er, flat) for the full day before we are there, then we might be in luck. in any case, we can check with the apartment people closer to the date - sounds like we have some options if we can't drop our stuff off.
The Google sees all and knows all, but it doesn't always tell it honestly. (See May 7, 2014 entry.)
I really don't expect it to take too long, but we'll know exactly how long it took in 57 days.... :-)
